    Railways announces massive recruitment drive for 90,000 posts: Details here

    What's the story

    Ten days after announcing a massive recruitment drive for 26,500 vacancies, the Railways has now invited applications for another 90,000 lower-level posts.

    Profiles available are for loco pilots, crane drivers, blacksmith, carpenters and other technicians in Group C Level I (Erstwhile Group D) & Level II Categories.

    Candidates need to have cleared Class 10 and achieved an Industrial Training Institute certificate. All details here.

    Eligibility

    Who is eligible to apply?

    Candidates aged 18-31 are eligible to apply for the Level I posts, while the Level II posts are open for those aged 18-28.

    For the former, salaries will range in the scale of Rs. 18,000-56,900, and in the scale of Rs. 19,900-63,200 for the latter.

    For Level I, applications will be accepted till March 12, and till March 5 for Level II.

    Computer-based exam and physical efficiency tests to decide selection

    Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of performance in a computer-based aptitude exam (scheduled tentatively in April-May), physical capacity tests and document verification. SC/ST candidates will be given free sleeper class tickets during the recruitment process.
