    What's the story

    The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results of JEE Main April 2019 on the official JEE Main website (jeemain.nic.in).

    Over 9 lakh candidates had appeared in the second edition of the JEE Main conducted in April this year. NTA earlier announced that the results will be out before 30 April.

    Here's how candidates can check their JEE Main April 2019 result.

    Procedure to check JEE Main April 2019 score online

    Candidates need to visit the official JEE Main website (jeemain.nic.in) to check their JEE Main April 2019 results.

    After going to the official website, they will be redirected to a page where they need to click on "JEE (Main) April 2019 NTA Score" option. There, candidates need to enter the required details like their application number and date of birth to view their result.

    In a first, NTA conducted JEE Main twice this year

    The NTA had conducted the JEE Main twice in 2019: in January and April. This was the first time that the JEE Main was held twice in a year.

    The results of the JEE Main January session were already declared by the NTA in January. The JEE Main April edition was conducted on 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 April.

    JEE-Main's top 2.24 lakh rankers will be eligible for JEE-Advanced

    Now that the JEE Main 2019 results are released, the status of candidates who qualify for the JEE Advanced 2019 will become clear. The top 2.24 lakh rankers of the JEE Main 2019 (January and April sessions combined) will be eligible for the JEE Advanced.

    The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is the most difficult engineering entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering programs offered at NITs, IIITs, SFTIs, and CFTIs.

    JEE comprises Main and Advanced exams.

    JEE Main is for admission to NITs/IIITs/CFITs and to qualify for JEE Advanced. Meanwhile, JEE Advanced, which is held by IITs, is for admission to IITs.
