In a first, the Vadodara division of Indian Railways has decided to lend empty platforms to people for organizing birthday parties, receptions, exhibitions and other social gatherings.
Reportedly, the National transporter took the decision to generate revenue out of the deserted platforms.

The stations where you can host parties
The stations under the Vadodara division that are up for this scheme are Makarpura, Vishvamitri, Bajva and Ankleshwar railway stations.
Railways are also considering opening platform number 6 of Vadodara station for such parties.
This decision was announced in August last year, but couldn't be implemented due to security reasons.

How to take permission for such parties
To organize a party at the platforms, people need to seek permission from the commercial department of Pratap Nagar, under Vadodara division.
Only those platforms where no train has stopped for more than three hours will be taken into consideration for this scheme.
