    Universities to implement software to check plagiarism in PhD theses

    What's the story

    The government is making it mandatory for all universities to scan Ph.D. theses through a strong software to check plagiarism.

    HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar informed Rajya Sabha it isn't true that all varsities are getting fake research papers, but efforts are being made to rectify the wrongdoings.

    "There are different software but varsities should use strong software to scan all Ph.D. theses," he said.

    "It isn't true that fake degrees are given in all universities. This issue has come to light only at a few places and we have developed a new software to check plagiarism and we've made it mandatory for all varsities to enforce it," Javadekar said.
