    What's the story

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is the most difficult engineering entrance exam for admission to top technical institutes in the country. JEE consists of Main and Advanced exams.

JEE Main will be held twice from 2019 (January and April). The JEE Main-II is scheduled to be conducted between 7-20 April.

With only a week left for the exam, here are some last-minute tips for students.

    #1

Prepare a proper schedule; ensure you have all required material

At the last minute, when there are only a few weeks before the exam, students must avoid studying/revising without proper planning. They must create a fresh plan and adhere to it.

They should calculate how much time they need to cover all the topics in the syllabus and plan accordingly. Candidates must ensure they have all the required study material to avoid last-minute trouble.

    #2

Don't study any new topic, avoid consulting too many books

Many JEE aspirants make the mistake of studying new topics or referring to new books at the last minute with only days left for the exam.

However, this should be avoided (unless it's a really important topic) as it might lead to confusion and increase the burden on students.

Instead, they should focus on what they know and consult 1-2 good books per topic.

    #3

Revise all topics, focus more on important concepts, formulae

While preparing for JEE, students must thoroughly revise all the topics in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry to memorize better. However, they must concentrate more on important topics/concepts as per weightage along with formulae, theorems, and reactions.

Also, students might not have time to study topics in detail at the last minute; for quick revision, they should maintain a notebook for noting down important points.

    #4

Take mock tests, solve previous papers; analyze your performance

Apart from studying/revising, students must solve as many previous papers and sample question papers as possible; they can also take mock tests.

This will help candidates improve their speed and understand the exam pattern, questioning trends, difficulty-level, marking scheme, negative marking, time management etc.

They should analyze their performance in these tests to know what mistakes they are making and try to avoid them.

    Information

#5: Don't study for long hours; take regular breaks

While proper preparation and thorough revision are essential, JEE aspirants must avoid studying continuously for long hours and take breaks in between, relax, and get sufficient sleep. Maintaining good health and eating healthy food while preparing for the exam is important.
