    What's the story

Internet services have been suspended in the Jamui district of Bihar after two communities clashed during a religious procession.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday in Jhajha, left three people injured in stone-throwing.

District Magistrate Abhilasha Sharma confirmed that nine people have been arrested in connection with the violence and a police officer has been suspended for dereliction of duty.

    Legal action

Case registered against unidentified individuals, police conduct flag march

Authorities have registered a case against 50-60 unidentified people involved in the clash.

To prevent further escalation of violence, district police held a flag march in Jhajha on Monday.

Sharma said, "The situation was immediately brought under control by the police."

She also confirmed all injured were treated at the nearest government hospital and are reported to be out of danger.

    Preventive measure

Internet services suspended until February 18

Internet services will continue to remain suspended in the district till February 18 as a precautionary measure to keep the peace.

Sharma said the clash broke out when members of both communities started stone-throwing during a religious procession.

She assured the situation is now "fully under control" and action will be taken against the people involved in this incident.
