A little about the Jharkhand IAS officer

Ranjan pursued a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Economics from the Delhi University's Hindu College in 1996.

He also pursued an MBA as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management from the coveted Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA).

He later joined the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in 1998 and worked as an Assistant Executive (Institution Building Group).

Ranjan later decided to appear for the coveted UPSC CSE

It was in March 2000, while he was still working for NDDB, that Ranjan decided to go for the Civil Services as these offers diverse service opportunities, bigger responsibilities, policy implementation, and greater involvement with the people, according to IAS Motivation.

He made the decision to tread the highly uncertain path of the UPSC Civil Services Examination after much deliberation.
