    What's the story

Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief BS Dhanoa sent a major warning to Pakistan, saying his warplanes are capable of attacking nuclear sites across the border.

He said this would happen if the government approves another surgical strike.

Addressing a press conference here on the eve of Air Force Day, Dhanoa said the IAF is capable of countering a two-front war with China and Pakistan.

Dhanoa: Can match Pakistan, adequately prepared against China

"Possibility of a two-front war in the current geopolitical situation is low. Our response should be based on enemy's capability because intentions can change overnight," Dhanoa said.

He said the IAF can more than match Pakistan but is adequate against China.

He said when it comes to Chinese air power, it's not about Beijing's overall inventory but about what can be projected against India.

IAF will reach sanctioned strength of 42 fighters by 2032

Dhanoa said the IAF will achieve its sanctioned strength of 42 fighters squadrons by 2032.

Dhanoa acknowledged that despite an end to the Doklam standoff, the Chinese forces were still deployed there.

He said China held exercises in the Chumbi Valley, close to the standoff site, every year during summer. He expects them to withdraw once the summer ends.
