Gurugram: Neighbor shows objectionable video to 8-year-old, rapes her
What's the story
An 8-year-old girl was raped by her neighbor in Sultanpur area of Gurugram on Sunday, police said.
The accused lured the victim into his house, showed her an objectionable video, and assaulted her, HT reports.
The victim managed to escape when the accused went to the washroom to relieve himself. She told her parents about the assault, who complained to the police.
The incident
Victim was playing with friends when accused approached her
Sub-Inspector Seema of women police station at Manesar revealed the accused approached the victim, a student of Class 3, while she was playing with her friends.
He lured her into his home and showed her the video. "He then touched her inappropriately and assaulted her," SI Seema said.
The accused has been identified as Jeetender, who belongs to Bhatinda, and worked at an amusement park.

Victim's statement has been recorded
Police said the victim managed to escape after the victim went to the washroom. Her father is a construction worker and mother is a homemaker.
"The girl's statement was recorded on Sunday afternoon before a duty magistrate under section 164 of the code of criminal procedure (CrPC) and her medical examination was conducted," Seema said.
She will be counseled by Child Welfare Committee officials.

Case has been registered but accused at large
A case was registered under Section 10 (punishment for aggravated sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO). SI Seema said the accused has been identified and will be arrested soon.
