    ISC topper made DCP for a day, became father's boss

    What's the story

    Richa Singh, who ranked fourth across India in the Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class XII examinations, was made the Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP) of Kolkata for a day as a reward for her achievement.

    The results for the ISC exams were declared on May 7, and Richa emerged as the fourth topper with 99.25% marks.

    Richa was felicitated by Commissioner of Police, Kolkata

    Yesterday, Richa, a student of the GD Birla Centre for Education, "occupied" the chair of the Deputy Commissioner (South-Eastern Division) of city police from 6 am to 12 pm during the day, according to IANS.

    Richa is the daughter of additional officer-in-charge of Gariahat police station, Rajesh Singh, and was felicitated by IPS officer and Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, Dr. Rajesh Kumar.

    When asked if she had any tasks to assign to her father since she was his boss for the day, Richa said, "I will order him to return home early."

    "Can't express how happy I am. She is my 'superior' for the day. She has ordered me to return home early. I shall obey her today," said her father, Rajesh.

    Richa wants to study history or sociology next

    Speaking about her plans for the future, Richa said that she would like to study history or sociology.

    She said she would also like to appear for the UPSC examinations.

    The Class XII ISC exams were topped by two students - Vibha Swaminathan from Bengaluru and Dewang Kumar Agarwal from Kolkata - both of whom had achieved the perfect aggregate of 100%.
