    What's the story

A Jeddah-Ahmedabad flight was at the center of a security scare on Monday morning after a bomb threat letter was found onboard.

The note, which was discovered under a seat by cleaning staff after all passengers had disembarked, triggered an extensive security sweep at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

Sharad Singhal, Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, confirmed no suspicious items were uncovered during the search.

    Ongoing probe

Investigation underway to identify source of threat

Detailing the incident, Singhal said, "A flight from Jeddah landed in Ahmedabad this morning. Once passengers had exited, the cleaning staff discovered a note threatening to blow up the aircraft."

Following the threat, security and investigative personnel, including local police and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), thoroughly searched the concerned IndiGo aircraft.

    Forensic examination

Fingerprint and handwriting analysis employed in investigation

Investigative agencies are now using fingerprint and handwriting analysis techniques to ascertain if any of the passengers were involved in the bomb threat.

An official associated with the investigation said, "We are examining the handwriting and fingerprints of each traveler, but so far, nothing suspicious has surfaced."

This meticulous approach is aimed at identifying any potential passenger involvement in this serious security incident.

    Hoax trend

Recent spate of hoax bomb threats across India

This incident is the latest in a spate of hoax bomb threats to several establishments across India.

On February 7, a Delhi-NCR college and two schools were sent bomb threats via email, triggering massive security responses. They were later found to be baseless by authorities.

Similarly, on February 4, two Indore private schools were evacuated over emailed bomb threats during examinations; they were also confirmed hoaxes.

    Heightened security

Security agencies on high alert following hoax threats

Earlier this month, four Noida schools also received similar bomb threats sending panic waves before being declared false alarms by security personnel.

In light of these incidents, authorities have filed cases against unknown persons behind these threats.

Security agencies across India continue to remain on high alert, working tirelessly to trace the source of these hoaxes and prevent further disruptions.
