    What's the story

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has nabbed two babus in Andhra Pradesh having disproportionate assets worth several crores.

ACB officials discovered 11kg of gold and diamond-studded jewelry from the residence of Director of Town and Country Planning (DTPC), Golla Venkata Raghu.

Raghu also owns a lodge in Shirdi. Authorities believe Raghu engaged in corrupt activities when he worked as Hyderabad's chief city planner in 2009.

    Raids

Kilos of gold found in second accused babu's house

The second accused, Nalluri Venkata Siva Prasad is a junior technical officer in the engineering section in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC).

Investigators raided Siva Prasad's house, where they found several documents, kilos of gold and diamond jewelry.

Raghu had worked with Siva Prasad in the VMC in 2003.

The two were allegedly working in cohorts to attain their ill-gotten wealth.

    Details

Raghu had five benami companies, several properties

Raghu had established five different companies in his mother-in-law's name and another benami Subha Rao.

All the companies were later transferred in the name of Raghu's wife Chintamaneni Gayathri. A majority of properties were also under Gayathri's name.

Both Raghu and Siva Prasad allegedly took kickbacks from companies trying to get government tenders.

The two will be produced before an ACB court in Vijayawada.
