'She was very happy': Katrina misses Vicky's 'Chhaava' look now

Vicky Kaushal, who is prepping for the release of his upcoming film Chhaava, has undergone a massive physical transformation for his role as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The actor gained 25kg to get the character right.
At a recent media interaction in Delhi, he revealed how his wife and fellow actor Katrina Kaif reacted to his new look.
"She was very happy and she was so happy to the point that she misses Chhaava now."

Kaushal shared that Kaif is looking forward to his next film, Mahavatar, because of his bearded look in it.
He also revealed his post-shoot indulgence, "I ate gol gappe and chaat after wrapping up the shoot."
The actor further praised Kaif for her understanding nature during his demanding preparation period for Chhaava. "When you are shooting non-stop...you just want to sleep. However, Katrina being part of the industry understands my work."

'Chhaava' co-star Rashmika Mandanna's reaction to the project
Rashmika Mandanna, who also features in Chhaava, said she was surprised to be considered for the film.
"I don't know how Laxman sir thought about me. When I saw the first look and when I heard the script and came to know about the sequences in the film, I thought that I was doing it for sure."
Laxman Utekar has directed the film and Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has produced it.
Film controversy
'Chhaava' controversy and Kaushal's preparation for the role
Notably, the creators of Chhaava recently courted controversy over a dance sequence where Kaushal's character performed the traditional Maharashtrian lezim dance.
The scene was removed following objections from politicians, including Uday Samant—the minister of Maharashtra.
Kaushal had defended the inclusion of the dance, saying he imagined that Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj would have performed this dance as a young man returning from war.
