    What's the story

Apoorva Mukhija, aka The Rebel Kid, is a popular social media influencer with 2.7 million Instagram followers and over 500K YouTube subscribers.

She is currently facing backlash for her appearance on a controversial episode of Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent.

Mukhija has been slammed for making inappropriate comments and laughing at co-host Ranveer Allahbadia's offensive remark about parents having sex.

As the controversy continues to stir debate, know all about Mukhija.

    Career journey

Mukhija's rise to fame and educational background

Mukhija, a computer science engineer, followed a path common among many in the digital age.

She became a sensation on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic, frequently posting videos on general life problems which many found relatable.

Her fame resulted in collaborations with top brands like Google, Nike, Amazon, Meta (formerly Facebook), Swiggy, and Maybelline.

Forbes has also listed her among the Top 100 Digital Stars.

    Legal issues

What were the remarks made by Mukhija on 'IGL'?

After the controversial episode of India's Got Latent, several people associated with the show have been threatened with legal action, including Allahbadia, Mukhija, and Raina.

While Allahbadia's comments have been the focal point of the controversy, Mukhija's remarks have also drawn heavy criticism.

A contestant made an inappropriate remark about "vaginal sensation." In response, Mukhija shocked viewers with her crude comment: "Have you ever seen a vagina after exiting your mother?"

    The remark was widely condemned.

    Past incident

Mukhija's previous controversy at the 'Under 25 Summit'

More recently, Mukhija found herself in another controversy at the Under 25 Summit at Delhi Technological University.

A video of her heated exchange with a group of students who heckled her on stage had gone viral on social media.

The situation escalated when the students tried to get on stage but were stopped by security. Mukhija later addressed the heckler directly on social media, who claimed he had a problem with one of her recent posts.
