A couple of days back, filmmaker Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, the elder daughter of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, announced her next film.
Titled Oh Saathi Chal, the venture would mark her maiden Bollywood directorial.

Aishwaryaa's last directorial outing was the Tamil film Vai Raja Vai, which had released in 2015.

Hence, Oh Saathi Chal will mark Aishwaryaa's return to filmmaking after seven long years.

Touted as an 'extraordinary true love story'
While making the announcement, Aishwaryaa had shared a poster that featured an old bicycle in a ghosted street.
The image had a vintage feel to it, so it seems the film will deal with a period love story.
She had captioned it as, "Happy n feeling blessed to announce my directorial debut in Hindi Oh Saathi Chal, an extraordinary true love story."

Meenu Arora, producer of 'Jhund,' bankrolling film
Oh Saathi Chal will be bankrolled by Meenu Arora of Cloud 9 Pictures, who had also produced Jhund.
She said, "Oh Saathi Chal is a special film, a true love story just waiting to be told. Here's to love, all the way."
Meanwhile, Jhund, a sports biographical drama, has Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. It has received critical acclaim, but couldn't earn much.
