Vaani Kapoor, known for her acclaimed performance in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, is set to broaden her horizons by playing the lead in the upcoming comedy-drama Badtameez Gill.
The film, directed by Navjot Gulati (writer of Jai Mummy Di), will feature Kapoor as the central character.
Her Bollywood journey began with Shuddh Desi Romance, where she starred alongside the late Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra.
She was last seen in Shamshera alongside Ranbir Kapoor.

Joining Kapoor in Badtameez Gill are comedy regulars Aparshakti Khurana and Paresh Rawal, who will play her on-screen brother and father respectively, per Variety.
The film's story reportedly unfolds across Bareilly and London, with production expected to begin this week.
The movie is a collaborative effort of producers Nickky Bhagnani, Viicky Bhagnani, Vinay Agarwal, Ankur Takrani, and Akshad Ghone under the banner of Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films.
