    OTT watchlist: 'Emergency,' 'Be Happy,' more releasing this week

    What's the story

    The second week of March looks pretty exciting, with various new releases lined up on popular OTT platforms, including JioHotstar, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video.

    Notably, from Bollywood, films like Be Happy and Emergency are being released digitally this week. Other prominent releases include The Electric State and Dope Thief.

    Here's a list of fresh titles hitting OTT this week.

    Upcoming releases

    'Be Happy' and 'Emergency' arriving on March 14

    Be Happy, co-starring Abhishek Bachchan and Inayat Verma, will head to Prime Video on Friday (March 14). Also featuring Nora Fatehi and Amitabh Bachchan in an elongated cameo appearance., the film follows a father-daughter duo who overcome a myriad of challenges emerging from a dance competition.

    Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut's Emergency, based on major political events during former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's rule, will drop on Netflix the same day.

    'American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden' and 'Dope Thief' to premiere

    Netflix also dropped American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden, on Monday (March 10). The gripping docuseries chronicles the timeline and whole process of the hunt for the world's most notorious terrorist.

    Apple TV+ is set to premiere Dope Thief, a crime drama series, on Friday (March 14). It follows two friends from Philadelphia who pose as DEA agents to rob a house and stars Brian Tyree Henry, Wagner Moura, Marin Ireland, and Kate Mulgrew.

    'The Wheel of Time' S3 and 'The Electric State'

    The third season of The Wheel of Time, adapted from the eponymous book series by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, will premiere on Prime Video on Thursday (March 13).

    The fantasy series follows Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, who is prophesied to save the world from the Dark One.

    On the other hand, Netflix's The Electric State, a sci-fi comedy-drama starring Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, and Jason Alexander, will premiere on Friday.

    'Anora' to premiere on JioHotstar

    Best Picture Oscar-winning Anora is set to stream on JioHotstar from March 17.

    The flick stars Mikey Madison as a Brooklyn stripper who marries a Russian oligarch's son only to get an unexpected annulment. She also bagged the Best Actress award at the Oscars for her performance in this movie.

    The cast also includes Mark Eidelstein, Yuri Borisov, Karren Karagulian, Vache Tovmasyan, and Lindsey Normington, among others.

    The Hollywood film bagged several other Oscars at the 97th Academy Awards.
