    What's the story

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar candidly addressed the recent underperformance of his films during the trailer launch of his forthcoming movie, Khel Khel Mein.

The event took place at a multiplex in Mumbai and was attended by co-stars Fardeen Khan, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal, and director Mudassar Aziz.

Responding to a journalist's remark about his intriguing film choices, Kumar humorously admitted, "Yes, but they aren't working," acknowledging their lackluster box office performance.

    Actor's response

'I am getting obituary and condolence-type messages!'

The actor voiced his annoyance over receiving messages of sympathy in response to his films' poor performance.

He stated, "My 4 or 5 films haven't worked. And I get messages like, 'Sorry, yaar,' 'Tu fikar mat kar (You don't worry),' 'Sab theek ho jaayega (Everything's going to be alright)!'"

"Abey mara nahin hoon main (I haven't died)!" he stated, adding, "I am getting obituary and condolence-type messages!"

    Career determination

Kumar asserts his commitment despite recent failures

Kumar also addressed a journalist's article that suggested he would soon make a comeback.

In response, the actor said, "I called him and asked, 'Bhai, why are you writing I'll be back soon? Where have I gone?! I am here and I'll continue working, no matter what people say."

"I'll get up in the morning, exercise, go to work, and return home in the evening."

He added, "I'll keep on working till they have to shoot me down!"

    Life lessons

Kumar shared father's wisdom amid career setbacks

Kumar further delved into a tale his father once told him about a farmer who remained indifferent to both good and bad fortune.

He related this story to his own career situation, stating, "Jo hota hai, acche ke liye hota hai (everything happens for the best)."

Meanwhile, Kumar's next Khel Khel Mein, marking his third release of the year, is slated to hit theaters on August 15.
