    What's the story

The Kashmir Files has emerged as an unprecedented success, subverting all box office trends with its massive haul.

Starting with only Rs. 3.5cr on Day 1, the Vivek Agnihotri-directorial has been exceeding its previous day's collection every day.

Now, going strong on Day 10, it has crossed the Rs. 150cr mark in India, collecting over Rs. 192cr worldwide.

Here's a territorial breakdown of collections.

    Recent

This is the breakdown of the earnings

Before the region-wise break-up, let us tell you that the Anupam Kher-starrer has grossed Rs. 26.20cr on Sunday, taking the nationwide collection to Rs. 167.45cr.

While on Friday (March 19), it had earned Rs. 19.15cr, its collection on Saturday stood at Rs. 24.80cr.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, The Kashmir Files should hit the Rs. 200cr mark by Wednesday or Thursday this week.

    Territories

Mumbai remains to be the highest earner

Among the different regions, Mumbai seems to be bringing in most of the film's income.

A Bollywood Hungama report states the home city of Bollywood has seen a total collection of Rs. 27.09cr till now.

Earnings in Mumbai are closely followed by theaters in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh that have collected around Rs. 26.33cr.

These are followed by Punjab with its Rs. 13cr income.

    Data

    What are lowest performing regions?

Where is The Kashmir Files performing the worst then?

As per the Bollywood Hungama report, Tamil Nadu and Kerala have grossed only around Rs. 65L, followed by Assam (Rs. 96L) and Odisha (Rs. 1.01cr).

Meanwhile, regions like Rajasthan (Rs. 5.02cr), West Bengal (Rs. 4.50cr), and Bihar and Jharkhand (both contributing Rs. 1.93cr together) have been decent performers at the box office.

    Do you know?

Recently, Agnihotri reacted to BJP leader screening film for free

Netizens have been encouraging others to catch the film in cinemas—with some even buying tickets for others. Attempting something similar, a Haryana BJP leader organized a free TKF screening. Agnihotri promptly reacted to this, warning the leader screening movies in open was a "criminal offense."

    Growth

Film earned praises from PM Narendra Modi, too

Hitting the big screens on March 11, the Agnihotri-directorial first gave tough competition to Prabhas's Radhe Shyam, and in the second week, it was up against Akshay Kumar's mass entertainer Bachchhan Paandey.

Yet, it seems to have no problem in filling up multiple slots.

Recently, the film—set around the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley—received support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.
