    Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is not only hailed as the most beautiful woman in India but has also grabbed eyeballs in the west because of her enchanting beauty, turns 44 today.

    She forayed into the world of glamour when she won the Miss World title in 1994 and since then there has been no looking back for her.

    Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam: The infamous love triangle

    Said to be a turning point in Aishwarya's career, this Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial brought forth an interesting love triangle which emerged as a blockbuster hit and earned huge commercial success.

    Aishwarya won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for this movie and it was during the shoot of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, she reportedly fell in love with her co-actor Salman Khan.

    Devdas: The Hindi adaptation of Sarat Chandra Ray's novel

    Another product of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's cinematic brilliance, Devdas not only earned critical acclaim in India but was also extremely well-received by the international audience. The film got five national awards and also the first film to get maximum Filmfare awards in 2002.

    Aishwarya's portrayal of Paro was hailed as one of Bollywood's most iconic roles. She won her second Filmfare for this film.

    Bride and Prejudice: The remake of Pride and Prejudice

    Helmed by Gurinder Chadha, the film is a Bollywood remake of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Aishwarya starred opposite Martin Henderson and garnered international recognition for her unparalleled portrayal of the Punjabi version of Elizabeth Bennet.

    This was her first international project and the film fared extremely well on the commercial front and also earned critical acclaim both nationally and internationally.

    Jodha Akbar: Turning back the pages of history

    Based on the life of Mughal emperor Akbar and Rajput princess Jodha Bai, Jodha Akbar's larger than life screen presence remains etched in our memory. Aishwarya not only pulled off the role of a princess effortlessly but also managed to look every bit regal throughout the movie.

    She starred opposite Hrithik Roshan and both the actors were heavily praised for their onscreen chemistry.

    Aishwarya Rai's next movie is set for an April release

    Aishwarya Rai would be next seen in a musical comedy Fanney Khan, directed by Atul Manjrekar. She will reportedly star alongside Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao and the film is expected to release by April 2018. Aishwarya will essay the role of a singer.
