Why 'Stree 2' distributors are asking for all single-screen shows
With the impending three-way clash between Bollywood biggies Stree 2, Vedaa, and Khel Khel Mein, single-screen theaters are yet to open bookings. This predicament is a result of the distributors of Stree 2 demanding all shows in single-screen theaters based on its multiplex bookings. However, theater owners are hesitant to comply with this request due to the potential impact on the other two films.
'Khel Khel Mein,' 'Vedaa' might have to settle: Hall owner
A theater owner told Bollywood Hungama, "It seems like Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa would have to settle for one show each while the rest of the 3 or 4 shows would be given to Stree 2." Another owner expressed their frustration over the situation, questioning why three films had to be released on the same day.
Gaiety-Galaxy temporarily suspended 'Stree 2' bookings
Bookings for paid previews of Stree 2 have begun in many single-screen theaters. Mumbai's iconic cinema complex Gaiety-Galaxy opened bookings for Stree 2 in Gaiety and Vedaa in Galaxy, but Stree 2 bookings were temporarily suspended on Monday before resuming on Tuesday. The reason is yet to be out. This issue also extends to two-screen theaters where one screen will be dedicated to Stree 2 and the rest to Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein.
'Vedaa' team has demanded more shows than 'Khel Khel Mein'
The team behind Vedaa is asking for three shows, more than Khel Khel Mein, as their advance is better. Kiritbhai T Vaghasia, who runs The Friday Cinema multiplex in Surat, has allotted eight shows to Stree 2, four to Vedaa, and three shows to Khel Khel Mein. He has temporarily stopped booking for Double iSmart and will only resume if the distributors of the three Hindi films are satisfied with the showcasing.
'Vedaa's lead and director expressed their views
Meanwhile, Sharvari, who plays a titular role in Vedaa, expressed her hope that people would go to theaters and enjoy whichever film they want to. Vedaa director Nikkhil Advani also shared his pride in the film, regardless of what happens on the big clash of August 15 (Thursday). Which film will you watch?
