    SRK, Netflix working on a political thriller, their third collaboration

    What's the story

    The king of romance, Shah Rukh Khan, is working on a new Netflix thriller based on Indian politics.

    His production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, has added one more project for the streaming giant to its basket.

    The series runs into the political ground of India between 2000 and 2019, tracing the political relations between two major parties.

    Series would revolve around real-life stories with fiction thrown in

    The unnamed series would run around real stories with some fictional elements thrown in, making it a great political recipe.

    A group of political columnists has also been called in to give the script a good shape, keeping the political sensitivity among the global audience in mind.

    As far as the director and casting are concerned, it'll be decided once the script gets nod.

    Series

    Shah Rukh Khan's production house already has two Netflix projects

    With this political series under works, SRK's production house now has three Netflix projects.

    His first one is Bard of Blood, which is based on a book by the same name, starring Emraan Hashmi. It's an eight-episode political thriller series.

    The next one is a Netflix original film, Class of 83, directed by Atul Sabharwal. It will be a period drama, starring Bobby Deol.

    Deal

    SRK had signed deal with Netflix in December 2016

    In December 2016, Red Chillies Entertainment had officially agreed to sign a deal with Netflix to reach across the world through his projects.

    About the collaboration, Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, Netflix, had said, "Shah Rukh Khan is the most sought-after actor in the Indian film industry, and has played a huge role in bringing Indian cinema to the world stage."

    Interview

    Recently, the actor appeared on David Letterman's talk-show

    SRK had also flown to NY recently to appear on famous TV host David Letterman's show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, which will be available on Netflix soon.

    About this, the Zero actor said, "I've watched David Letterman's late-night talk show for years and I'm a huge fan of his style of interviewing. I'm thrilled, and honored to share my story with him."
