    What's the story

There are many reasons that made the 2012 Sujoy Ghosh thriller Kahaani the phenomenon that it became. One reason was the iconic character of Bob Biswas, a regular-looking LIC agent who moonlighted as a cold-blooded contract killer.

And now, a Bob Biswas's origin story is in the making, which will see Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan joining hands.

    Here are more details.

    Details

Khan to co-produce the movie, starring Bachchan in the lead

Notably, the film will be bankrolled by Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, in association with Ghosh's Bound Script Production.

Starring Junior Bachchan in the titular role, the movie is set to be helmed by Ghosh's daughter Diya.

The film was announced by Red Chillies on Twitter on Monday. Soon after, the post was shared by Khan, Bachchan, and Ghosh.

    Information

Bob Biswas first appeared in Vidya Balan-starrer 'Kahaani'

Apparently, Bob Biswas will be a standalone film based on the eerie character from its source material, Kahaani.

After the original film came out, Bob Biswas, who was played by Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee, became utterly popular among Bollywood fans.

Bob Biswas's signature dialog, before he would pull the trigger, "Nomoshkar, ek minute" became a favorite among pop-culture enthusiasts and meme content creators.

    Facts

Shooting for 'Bob Biswas' expected to start early next year

Bob Biswas is expected to go on floors in early 2020.

Notably, this isn't the first time that the Khan-Bachchan duo will come together for a film. The two have previously co-starred in films like Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and Happy New Year (2014).

But, this would be the first time that Bachchan would appear in a movie produced by Khan.

    Information

Other upcoming movies of Bachchan and Khan

Apart from Bob Biswas, Bachchan will also soon appear in Anurag Basu's upcoming untitled project alongside Rajkummar Rao, and Kookie Gulati's The Big Bull. On the other hand, Khan who was last seen in Aanand L. Rai's Zero, is yet to announce his next movie.
