Divya Bharti was the original choice for 'Laadla'
The makers of 'Laadla' originally went to Divya with the lead role who even began shooting for the film. However, in a cruel turn of events, Divya died a premature death after filming a scene for the film. She fell off the balcony of her apartment, allegedly in a drunken state. She was only 19.
Later, Sridevi was roped in for the film.

A dialogue troubled both Sridevi and Divya Bharti
'Laadla' was a love triangle between Sridevi, Anil Kapoor and Raveena Tandon.
Talking about the film, Raveena said, "The first shot was an emotional one because Sridevi had stepped into Divya's shoes after her untimely demise. We were shooting the same scene with Sridevi in the same office and it was so eerie because she was stuck on the same line as Divya."

The world woke up to the shocking news of Sridevi's death on Sunday morning.
Initially, the death of the cine icon was attributed to a sudden cardiac arrest.
Later, it was revealed that the actress accidentally drowned in her hotel room's bathtub after having a fainting spell.
The matter is currently being probed by the investigators in Dubai.
