    What's the story

Spider-Man, for PS4, has already impressed us with its gameplay and is being rewarded in terms of record-breaking sales.

It has become the fastest selling PlayStation exclusive of all time.

Now, at a promotional event, it managed to break a Guinness World Record in a surprising category.

It broke the record for most people dressed as Spider-Man at one place.

    Read about it here.

    The new record

The popularity of the web-slinger reaches new heights

A few days ago, at the Stockholm comic-con, Marvel and Sony had jointly organized an event to try and get people to dress up as Spider-Man.

Riding on the recent popularity of the game, it was not a hard task.

They managed to gather 547 people in one place, thus breaking the existing record in the Guinness Book.

    Old record

Bow to the new holders of the record

To put things in context, the Guinness World Record was previously held by an event in Sydney, Australia where 438 people showed up.

The current event at Stockholm beat the previous record in a short time.

Marvel's chief editor C.B. Cebulski recorded the official attempt to break the record, through his before and after tweets, which show they managed it in almost 3 hours.

The joint attempt by Marvel and Sony to keep Spider-Man in the spotlight has paid off.

The game has already broken sales records for Sony and is also PS4's fastest selling title, having overtaken God of War.
