    What's the story

Actor Sonu Sood has tested positive for COVID-19, he announced on Saturday. Notably, he was appointed as the brand ambassador of Punjab's COVID-19 vaccination program by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh just a few days back.

He had also received his first COVID-19 vaccine dose recently. Known for his altruistic side, the 47-year-old star said the diagnosis couldn't affect his mood and spirit.

    Post

'COVID - positive. Mood & spirit - super positive'

The actor shared an official note on social media in both English and Hindi to announce the news of the diagnosis.

He said, "COVID - positive. Mood & spirit - super positive. Hi everyone, this is to inform you that i have tested positive this morning for Covid -19 as a part of precautions I have already quarantined myself & taking utmost care (sic)."

    Optimistic message

'This gives me ample time to solve your problems'

Asking fans not to worry about him, Sood urged them to look at the bright side of the affair. Staying optimistic, the Happy New Year actor wrote, "This gives me ample time to solve your problems remember i'm always there for you all (sic)."

To recall, on Friday, Sood had expressed his powerlessness about not being able to help everyone across the country.

    Looking back

He'd felt 'helpless' for not being able to do anything

He had tweeted how he was getting "thousands of calls from all over India for hospital beds, medicines, injections" but he wasn't able to provide them for all. Sood wrote, "The situation is scary, pls stay at home, wear mask and prevent yourself from infection (sic)."

In a subsequent tweet, he urged everyone to come out and help, and not engage in blame games.

    Twitter Post

Let's save lives together, Sood had said yesterday

All said and done, I am still on it, I am sure together we can save many more lives.
It's time not to blame anyone but to come forward for a needy who needs your help. Try to provide medical needs to the ones who don't have an access. LETS SAVE LIVES TOGETHER.Always there for u🙏
