    What's the story

Renowned singer Sonu Nigam recently gave a behind-the-scenes glimpse into his life as a performer, revealing that he was in "excruciating pain" ahead of his concert in Pune.

Despite the discomfort, he pushed through and delivered an energetic performance.

The video posted on Instagram shows him preparing for the show while visibly wincing in pain. His team can be seen assisting him as he tries to manage the discomfort.

    Resilience

Nigam's determination and dedication to his craft

Even while dealing with the pain, Nigam was seen dancing and enjoying himself during the performance in the video. However, he admitted his dancing might have worsened his condition.

He said, "One of the most difficult days of my life but very fulfilling."

"I was thinking gaate gaate jhatka dete hai na (While singing we dance), that can also trigger the spasm. But I managed somehow."

    Pain description

'Excruciating pain': Nigam described his discomfort

Further describing his discomfort, Nigam said, "But excruciating, excruciating pain. Laga tha jaese ek needle mere spine mein laga rakhi hai. Itna sa yaha waha ho aur needle spine mein ghus jayegi (I felt as if a needle was pricking my spine. I would move a little and the needle would enter my spine). It was like that. Really bad."

Nevertheless, he maintained his gym routine before the show to stay fit for his performances.

    Dedication

Nigam's commitment to his music career

In another video, Nigam was seen detailing his pain in the gym. He said, "Aaj tak mujhe show ke pehle itna dard nahi hua (I have never felt so much pain)," reflecting how this was nothing like he had faced before a performance.

Nigam continued to practice his singing while one of his team members walked on his back to ease the pain.

By the end of the video, he was fully dressed and ready for his Pune performance.

    Career highlights

Nigam's contribution to the Indian music industry

Nigam has sung over 10,000 songs, mostly in Hindi.

His versatile vocal skills have also seen him sing in several Indian languages, including Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Nepali, Malayalam, and many more.

Known for his incredible range and adaptability, he recently received immense love from fans for lending his voice to Mere Dholna 3.0 from the film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
