'Mission Majnu' sets box office clash with 'Govinda Naam Mera'
What's the story
Sidharth Malhotra-led Mission Majnu has got a new release date. The spy thriller will now hit cinema halls on June 10, 2022.
Earlier, it was slated to release on May 13 and would have engaged in a direct clash with Yash Raj Films-backed Jayeshbhai Jordaar and action thriller Anek, starring Ayushmann Khurrana.
The new date, however, doesn't mean Mission Majnu is a solo release.

Know about BO competitor 'Govinda Naam Mera'
Backed by RSVP Movies and Guilty By Association Media LLP, Mission Majnu now faces stiff competition from Govinda Naam Mera at the box office.
Starring Vicky Kaushal in the titular role, Govinda Naam Mera features Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar as the leading ladies.
It is being bankrolled by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and is being written and directed by Shashank Khaitan.

While sharing the new release date for Mission Majnu, RSVP Movies wrote on Instagram, "The target is set! Get ready to be a part of India's most daring R&AW mission in the heart of Pakistan. Inspired by true events, #MissionMajnu releasing on 10th June 2022."
Written by Parveez Shaikh, Aseem Arrora, and Sumit Batheja, Mission Majnu also stars Sharib Hashmi and Kumud Mishra.

Mission Majnu has been directed by Shantanu Bagchi.
It will mark Telugu and Kannada film industries' top actor Rashmika Mandanna's Bollywood debut.
In this film, Malhotra will be essaying the role of an R&AW agent, who leads "India's greatest covert operation that derailed Pakistan's illicit Nuclear Ambitions," as was said by the makers in November last year.
Nothing is known about Mandanna's role yet.

Speaking of his film, Malhotra had earlier said, "Mission Majnu is a patriotic tale inspired by true events that celebrates the hard work of R&AW agents who go out of their way to protect the citizens of our country."
"It's a privilege to tell the story of our brave agents," he had added.
Malhotra's last release was Shershaah that had made raging business.
