Fans were surprised when Gomez did not attend Swift's Rhode Island party in August.
The insider further explained, "In a lot of ways, she feels like an outsider now. She is not a cheerleader and never wanted to be."
It has been reported that there is some tension between Lively and Gomez, who choose to spend time with their pop star BFF separately.
