    What's the story

It hasn't been long when it was reported that Saif Ali Khan was approached for the much talked-about sequel to Bunty Aur Babli.

Media reports suggested that he would be playing a pivotal role in the movie, and would begin shooting soon.

However, as per the recent development, the Sacred Games 2 actor has walked out of the sequel.

    Here's why.

    Choice

Abhishek was the first choice for the sequel

As per Bollywood Hungama report, Abhishek Bachchan, who played the lead in the first installment, was the first choice for the sequel.

"They felt that he'll suit the role of the second lead," a source stated.

However, AB turned down the offer and it went to Saif.

And while Saif was excited about the project initially, he seems to have changed his mind later.

    Replacement

"YRF is now working overtime to find a suitable replacement"

Needless to say, Saif's sudden exit has left the makers (Yash Raj Films) "in a lurch" as Bunty Aur Babli 2 was expected to go on the floors soon.

"The reason for Saif's decision is not known yet but it seems, he had second thoughts about his role. YRF is now working overtime to find a suitable replacement," the source added.

    Cast

Siddhant Chaturvedi to play the lead in the sequel?

Meanwhile, there are reports that Siddhant Chaturvedi, who impressed the audience in Ranveer Singh's Gully Boy, will be playing the lead in Bunty Aur Babli sequel.

The makers are also still hunting for a fresh face for the female lead of the movie.

So far, names like newcomer Sharvari Wagh and former Miss World Manushi Chhillar are being considered for the lead role.

    Information

A younger jodi will join the leads from the original

Furthermore, the media reports also suggested that unlike the first installment, the sequel will have two couples. "There will be two pairs of actors with a jodi from the younger generation of actors joining the two main leads from the original," the source mentioned.

    Upcoming movies

Currently, Saif is gearing up for release of 'Laal Kaptaan'

On a related note, Saif is currently gearing up for the release of Laal Kaptaan.

The Nawab of Pataudi will be seen playing the role of a naga sadhu in the movie, which will release on October 11.

Besides, he is working on Nitin Kakkar's family drama Jawani Jaaneman, Pavan Kirpalani's upcoming horror-comedy Bhoot Police and Ajay Devgn's Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior.
