    What's the story

Acclaimed director Ram Gopal Varma recently disclosed that an unidentified Telugu star allegedly paid to keep his underperforming film in theaters longer than planned.

The revelation—made during an interview with Galatta Plus—has sparked speculation among internet users about the possible identity of the actor involved.

Varma stated, "One particular hero...did a film with a big star in Telugu. Now the star's fans, they felt that it's an insult if it doesn't at least continue for this long a time."

    Unusual intervention

Actor's attempt to save the film from early withdrawal

Varma further revealed that the actor approached the corporate company head, offering to use his own funds to keep the film running.

The director quoted the actor saying, "He said as long as he's spending the money, what would they lose?"

"This was somewhere not communicated to the distributor. So the distributor stopped putting ads in the newspaper that it's playing in the theaters."

"So this completely turned off the heroes," the filmmaker said.
