    What's the story

The upcoming film Superboys of Malegaon, starring Adarsh Gaurav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora, is set to be screened at the 68th BFI London Film Festival.

The news was announced by producer Zoya Akhtar on Instagram with a post that read, "The Malegaon dream has now reached the prestigious BFI #SuperboysOfMalegaon."

The film is inspired by real events in Malegaon, a small town in Maharashtra.

    Production details

'Superboys of Malegaon' is a joint production venture

Superboys of Malegaon is a collaborative production between Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby.

The film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya, and Reema Kagti. It's directed by Kagti and penned by Varun Grover.

The narrative revolves around Nasir Shaikh, an amateur filmmaker from Malegaon who assembles a group of friends to create a film that provides the townspeople with an escape from their daily lives.

    Festival screenings

'Superboys of Malegaon' set for 2nd international screening

The BFI London Film Festival will host two screenings of Superboys of Malegaon on October 10 at the Vue West End and on October 12 at the historic Curzon Soho.

This marks the film's second international screening following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13.

Amazon MGM Studios has also confirmed that their upcoming film will be part of the festival's lineup from October 9-20.
