May 13 clash: 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar' v/s 'Mission Majnu' v/s 'Anek'
What's the story
Jayeshbhai Jordaar finally has a release date.
The Hindi film, which has Ranveer Singh in the titular role, will release on May 13, 2022.
Touted to be a social comedy film, it faces stiff competition from spy thriller Mission Majnu and action thriller Anek.
But since all the three films belong to different genres, they may all do well at the box office.

Here's how the announcement was made
Yash Raj Films, producer of Jayeshbhai Jordaar, posted a cheeky video while announcing its release date.
In it, Singh tells us that we have seen different kinds of on-screen heroes, like "Gunwala hero, dhanwala hero, phunwala hero, naachta hero," etc., but we haven't yet seen someone whose "herogiri" is different from all of them.
"Naam hai JAYESHBHAI...Aur kaam hai JORDAAR," Singh ends the video.

Parts of the clip that impressed us
In the clip, lasting 49 seconds, the characterization of the different heroes leaves you amused. However, the parts that catch your attention the most are the "directed by," "produced by," and "so and so presents" of the different hero films. Very witty, Yash Raj Films!

Singh posted the same video from his personal Twitter account and captioned it as, "Naam hai JAYESHBHAI...Aur kaam hai JORDAAR !!! Chegg out the date announcement video (sic)," indicating his English accent as Jordaar, a Gujarati man, will have a native touch.
Apart from Singh, the film co-features Tamil-Telugu actor Shalini Pandey (in her Bollywood debut), Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Deeksha Joshi.

YRF announced release dates of two other films recently
This announcement comes a day after Yash Raj Films declared the premiere dates of two other much-awaited projects, Pathaan and Prithviraj.
While Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham (main antagonist), will hit theaters on January 25, 2023, Prithviraj has booked the June 3 slot for its grand release.
Prithviraj stars Akshay Kumar in the titular role of the mighty emperor.

Now, let's talk of Mission Majnu and Anek, the competitors of Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
Mission Majnu stars Sidharth Malhotra and Telugu actor Rashmika Mandanna (in her Bollywood debut). Malhotra plays Gaurav "Majnu" Kaim, a spy, in the film.
On the other hand, Anek has Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role. It marks his reunion with director Anubhav Sinha after their first, much-acclaimed film, Article 15.
