Ranveer Singh gets legal notice from WWE superstar Brock Lesnar

    What's the story

It is common knowledge that Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has a knack of embroiling himself in peculiar situations.

From dancing on Mumbai streets wearing the Krrish attire to jumping onto a crowd of his own fans, ending up hurting them, the list is indeed long.

And now, as it turns out, he has irked WWE superstar Brock Lesnar's advocate.

    Here's what happened.

    Reason

Lesnar's advocate sent legal notice over catchphrase copyright

As it happened, Ranveer posted a picture with Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya after the recent India-Pakistan World Cup clash, using the phrase, "Eat. Sleep. Dominate. Repeat." in the caption.

Apparently, this didn't go down well with Brock Lesnar's advocate, Paul Heyman, who claims Ranveer's catchphrase to be a mere modification of his world-famous wrestler client's popular war cry, "Eat. Sleep. Conquer. Repeat."

    Twitter Post

Firstly, Heyman posted a litigation warning on Twitter

    . @RanveerOfficial
    ARE YOU F'N KIDDING ME???????????
    1 - It's Eat Sleep CONQUER Repeat
    2 - Copyright #YourHumbleAdvocate and @BrockLesnar
    3 - I am litigious
    4 - EAT SLEEP DEPOSITION REPEAT https://t.co/yppZe129eZ

    Twitter Post

And now, he has served a legal notice to Ranveer

I didn't warn. I served noticed. And while I applaud @TheStatesmanLtd for their coverage of #YourHumbleAdvocate and @BrockLesnar, I must stress that I am not a manager (what an outdated, antiquated term). I am an #Advocate. And I'm the best #Advocate in history. https://t.co/KNQ4fMmUgQ

    Twitter Post

Earlier, Heyman called out ICC for misusing their 'mantra'

My most (in)sincere compliments to @cricketworldcup for promoting the amazing @msdhoni by paraphrasing my mantra for @WWE #UniversalChampion @BrockLesnar #EatSleepConquerRepeat. Our royalties may be paid in cash, check, stock or cryptocurrency. https://t.co/sGtIALzso1

Ranveer is yet to respond to the notice

Meanwhile, Ranveer has not responded to the notice.

He is currently in England, shooting for his upcoming sports-drama flick, '83.

The Kabir Khan-directorial chronicles Indian Cricket team's journey to World Cup glory back in 1983.

The ensemble cast also includes Harrdy Sandhu, Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Bhasin, Ammy Virk and Sahil Khattar.

It is slated to release on April 10, 2020.

    Fact

Ranveer-Deepika to share screen-space for first time after marriage

Interestingly, '83 will also mark Ranveer and wife Deepika's fourth film together, and their first post-marriage.

Earlier, the power couple have appeared together onscreen in Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, all three directed by ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

To note, the duo tied the knot in Italy in November, last year.
