The film is a sequel to 2021's Pushpa: The Rise, which was a massive pan-Indian hit.

Release details
'Pushpa 2' to clash with 'Chhaava'
Despite rumors of a possible delay, the filmmakers have confirmed that Pushpa 2: The Rule will be released on December 6, clashing with Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava.
Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar, also stars Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna and will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
It was earlier supposed to release on August 15, but was delayed due to pending post-production.
