    What's the story

Actor Preity Zinta recently conducted an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on X (formerly Twitter), where she spoke about everything from politics and her Indian Premier League team Punjab Kings to upcoming projects.

During the session, she was asked if she would file a defamation case against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

To this, she replied that it wouldn't be fair to vilify anyone like that as he isn't responsible for someone else's actions.

I don’t think it’s fair to vilify anyone like that, as he is not responsible for someone else’s actions. I believe in handling problems or issues directly & not through proxy battles. I also have no problem with Rahul Gandhi, so let him live in peace & I will live in peace too 😀 https://t.co/LAAGOdOJri

    Political views

Zinta clarified many political parties have approached her before

When asked if she plans to join politics, Zinta said, "No! No politics for me." She revealed that over the years, different political parties have offered her tickets and Rajya Sabha seats, but she has always refused.

As the netizen referred to her as "soldier" in reference to her hit film, Zinta added that being called a soldier was not entirely wrong because she was a soldier's daughter and a soldier's sister.

    Social media toxicity

Zinta expressed concern over toxic social media environment

Zinta also voiced her concern over the rising toxicity on social media in India.

She said, "I'm surprised at how toxic social media in India has become & how every comment & observation is weighed on a political scale."

Although she isn't interested in politics, she finds this trend deeply disturbing.

But she said she isn't a pushover and will stand up to anyone trying to bully her.

    False claims

Recently, Zinta refuted allegations of loan write-off

Recently, Zinta found herself in a controversy when Congress Kerala alleged that she had handed over control of her social media accounts to a political party and had an ₹18cr loan "written off."

She refuted these claims on X, calling them 'fake news' and clarified that she handles her own social media accounts.

She also confirmed that the stated loan had been repaid 10 years ago, dismissing the allegations as baseless.
