    What's the story

The highly-anticipated third season of the popular comedy-drama Panchayat, starring Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, and Neena Gupta, is finally nearing its release.

The official date, which fans have been eagerly awaiting since the conclusion of Season 2 nearly two years ago, is yet to be announced.

However, Amazon Prime Video took to social media on Wednesday to reveal that the series will premiere in May.

    Context

    Why does this story matter?

Fans of the show have been actively speculating on social media platforms like Reddit about potential May release dates, guessing it to be 13, 17, 20, or 28.

A credible source informed Pinkvilla on Tuesday the streaming platform is contemplating a late May premiere.

Helmed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, the narrative follows the journey of Abhishek—an engineering graduate compelled to assume the role of a Panchayat secretary in the fictional village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh, owing to limited job opportunities.

Sharing a playful video featuring bottle gourds, they tantalizingly hinted, "One million laukis (bottle gourds) later, we're almost there! Panchayat's new season's date is coming out soon!"

Adding to the fun, they provided a link to a game where fans can join in the gourd-removing adventure while awaiting the big reveal.
