    What's the story

The historical thriller Nuremberg is set to kick off its sales campaign at the upcoming 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, scheduled from May 14 to 25.

The film, represented by WME Independent, features a star-studded cast including Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, and more.

The narrative will delve into the post-World War II trials conducted against the fallen Nazi regime by the Allies.

    Storyline unveiled

    'Nuremberg' plot and character details

The official logline states: "The film will center on American psychiatrist Douglas Kelley (Malek), who is tasked with determining whether Nazi prisoners are fit to stand trial for their war crimes, and finds himself in a complex battle of wits with Hermann Göring (Crowe), Hitler's right-hand man."

"Shannon is set to play Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson, the chief prosecutor of the Nuremberg trials."

    Behind the scenes

'Nuremberg' production team and adaptation details

Nuremberg is directed by James Vanderbilt, who adapted his screenplay from Jack El-Hai's book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist—originally published in 2013.

The production team comprises Richard Saperstein, William Sherak, Brad Fischer, Istvan Major, and Paul Neinstein. They are joined by Walden Media's Frank Smith, Benjamin Tappan, and Cher Hawrysh.

The executive production team includes Annie Saperstein, Brooke Saperstein, Beau Turpin, W Porter Payne Jr., Géza Deme, and Tamás Hajnal.

    Upcoming ventures

Meanwhile, 'Nuremberg' cast Crowe is set to star in 'Exorcism'

Crowe, currently, is keeping busy with the remake of Exorcism.

The trailer for the latest iteration of the demon extraction genre was released last week, offering a glimpse into The Exorcism, starring the Oscar winner as an actor experiencing a breakdown while filming a supernatural horror movie.

Directed by Joshua John Miller, The Exorcism is set for an exclusive theatrical release starting on June 7.

In this fresh take on the genre, Crowe is joined by Ryan Simpkins.
