Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has initiated legal action against Telangana Congress Minister Konda Surekha for her recent controversial comments regarding the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
In his complaint, Nagarjuna accused Surekha of intentionally tarnishing the Akkineni family's public image with her statements.
Surekha ignited a firestorm on Wednesday when she alleged that the reason behind Chaitanya and Samantha's divorce is none other than KT Rama Rao (KTR).

Controversial claims
Surekha's allegations sparked controversy and legal action
"He (KTR) was a minister at that time and used to tap the phones of the actresses and then find their weaknesses to blackmail them...He used to make them drug addicts and then do this... Everyone knows this, Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, his family," Surekha had said.
Surekha also claimed that KTR had demanded sexual favors from the Akkineni family before ordering the demolition of their N-convention center.
She suggested that this scandal contributed to Chaitanya and Samantha's divorce.

Chaitanya calls minister's comments on his divorce 'ridiculous'
Calling the remarks "baseless and completely ridiculous," Chaitanya said that the decision of divorce was one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions.
"After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways."
"However, there have been various baseless and completely ridiculous gossips on the matter so far. I have remained silent all this while out of deep respect for my earlier spouse as well as my family," he said.

'Was an unexpected slip of the tongue': Surekha
Following the massive backlash, Surekha apologized to the actors and their families but refused to retract her allegations against KTR.
"I spoke about a family. It was an unexpected slip of the tongue on my part. When I saw their tweets, I felt bad. When I realized that, I felt bad that I hurt someone. So I unconditionally withdraw my statement. But in KTR's case, there is no going back. I demand his apology," the minister said.
