    What's the story

After several years, the popular Hindi reality television show MTV Roadies is undergoing a major shuffle.

The upcoming 18th season, Roadies Journey in South Africa, will have Bollywood star Sonu Sood taking up the hosting duties—thereby replacing the gang leaders and the entire gang-based concept.

Also, it will see an amalgamation of new and old contestants.

Here's a list of Season 18 confirmed contestants.

    Context

    Why does this story matter?

The news about the youth-focused show undergoing change surfaced in February 2022 when seasoned host-judge Rannvijay Singha exited from MTV Roadies and reports of Sood replacing him started doing the rounds.

Later, it was reported that other gang leaders like Neha Dhupia and Prince Narula also wouldn't be part of the show.

So, MTV Roadies will have to go through many tests this time.

    Details

Sapna Malik, Kevin Almasifar, Ashish Bhatia are returning once again

Notably, many of the confirmed participants for Roadies 18 had previously taken part in the stunts-based reality show.

Roadies Revolution contestants Sapna Malik and Kevin Almasifar will be back in the game this year.

Roadies Real Heroes participant and social media star, Ashish Bhatia, has also been roped in for this season.

Real Heroes contestants Sohil Singh Jhutti and Yukti Arora are also returning.

    Experienced batch

Known faces Baseer Ali and Gaurav Alugh also confirmed

Baseer Ali, who kickstarted his career with Roadies Rising and later won Splitsvilla 10, will once again aim for the crown in Roadies 18.

Ali spoke about his experience, saying, "Embarking on an all-new adventurous expedition [with Sood]...has been no less than an honor for me."

Other known faces include Roadies X4 contestants Kavya Khurana and Gaurav Alugh and Roadies 11 alum Aarushi Dutta.

    Introduction

    Meet the new contestants

Coming to brand-new entries, 21-year-old social activist-influencer Muskan "Moose" Jattana will be seen partaking in Roadies this time.

Dancer-fitness trainer from Bengaluru Jaswanth Bopanna and football enthusiast Nandu aka Nandini G will also lock horns with others this season.

Soundous Moufakir, a financial analyst from Mumbai who loves traveling, rounds up the list of confirmed contestants who will be perfecting stunts in South Africa.
