    What's the story

One would assume that in the post #MeToo era, actors would be safe from unsolicited advances, but sadly that is not the case as actor Maanvi Gaagroo, famous for her roles in TVF Tripling and Four More Shots Please, has revealed.

The actor revealed she was asked to "compromise" to get a role in a series.

Here's all about her unsavory experience.

    Details

Was offered triple the fees on condition of 'compromise': Maanvi

In a recent interaction with Koimoi, Maanvi recounted an incident from last year, where a man called her to offer a web show.

But after Maanvi told him the budget was "too less," the man immediately said they would triple her fees, if she was ready to "compromise."

"I can give you this much also, but aapko compro (compromise) karna padega," he told her.

    Quote

'I was baffled at how these things still happen'

Maanvi shared that she was shocked to learn how these incidents continue to take place despite the #MeToo movement.

"This words 'compro', 'compromise' I was hearing after 7-8 years. Suddenly I don't know what triggered me, I started abusing him... I was really mad because in this pro imposed #MeToo era, I was baffled at how things like this still happen," she said.

    Work

On the work front for Maanvi

Maanvi has been part of several popular web series such as TVF Pitchers, Tripling, and Made in Heaven.

On the big screen, the actor has appeared in movies like Ujda Chaman and this year's Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.

She will next be seen in the second season of Four More Shots Please. The show streams on Amazon Prime Video on April 17.

    #MeToo

India's #MeToo movement exposed many big names

Almost a year after it erupted in the US, the #MeToo wave arrived in India in late 2018.

Actress Tanushree Dutta sparked the movement in India when she revealed Nana Patekar sexually harassed her.

Soon, biggies like Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Kailash Kher, and Rajat Kapoor were also named by women, but the accusations had no impact. The men are back in business.
