    What's the story

Vivek Agnihotri has hit the ball out of the park with his latest, The Kashmir Files.

Set around the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley, the film has already crossed the Rs. 200 crore-mark at the box office.

While the movie proved to be monetarily successful, how much did the actors charge for their parts and who was the highest-paid?

    Let's find out.

    Details

Not Anupam Kher, this actor was the highest-paid

The narrative was shaped around the character of Pushkarnath Pandit, played by Anupam Kher.

Yet, Kher was not the highest-paid actor.

According to reports, the A Wednesday actor charged Rs. 1 crore for his appearance.

Meanwhile, Mithun Chakraborty—who essayed the role of IAS officer Brahma Dutt—was reportedly paid Rs. 1.5 crore, making the yesteryear superstar the highest-paid talent on board the film.

    Fact

Here's how much Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi charged

Now coming to Darshan Kumaar, whose character Krishna forms the link to the present day and the horrendous past, the Mary Kom actor was paid Rs. 45 lakh for his stint.

The exact payment for Pallavi Joshi, who essayed the role of Krishna's professor Radhika Menon, is not known.

But, reports suggest the co-producer took home payment in the range of Rs. 50-70 lakh.

    Information

Mrinal Kulkarni, Puneet Issar took home same amount

Next up, we have two widely known actors who were reportedly paid the same remuneration.

Mrinal Kulkarni, who was seen as Laxmi Dutt, the wife of Brahma Dutt, charged Rs. 50 lakh for her role.

And, the same amount was paid to Puneet Issar.

The Mahabharat fame actor has played the character of DGP Hari Narain in The Kashmir Files.

Reports have also indicated that Agnihotri took home Rs. 1cr for helming the flick.

Meanwhile, the box office journey of the film is unabated.

It collected Rs. 200cr solely from the Indian sales earlier on Thursday.

By doing so, The Kashmir Files became the highest-grossing Hindi offering in the post-pandemic time.

Even on weekdays, the film is continuing to collect over Rs. 10cr daily.
