    Kep1er members extend contracts, two reportedly leaving

    What's the story

    Seven members of the popular girl group Kep1er are reportedly extending their contracts, according to a report by STARNEWS.

    The group is expected to be restructured as a seven-member team, including Yujin, Xiaoting, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, and Youngeun.

    Meanwhile, Mashiro and Yeseo are rumored to be leaving Kep1er to join the girl group LIMELIGHT under their original agency 143 Entertainment.

    Mashiro and Yeseo's label has also issued a statement on the matter.

    Agency statements

    No decisions have been made, responded agency  

    In response to the reports, 143 Entertainment stated, "We were even discussing with CJ ENM until yesterday on whether to extend Yeseo and Mashiro's Kep1er activities. We are still reviewing this matter carefully, and no decisions have been made."

    Similarly, WAKEONE, Kep1er's agency, commented, "We are discussing with the members and each member's agency regarding the extension of Kep1er's project group activities."

    Kep1er's journey and upcoming album release

    Kep1er is a nine-member girl group that was formed through Mnet's survival audition program Girls Planet 999 in January 2022.

    They signed an exclusive contract with WAKEONE as a temporary group, set to promote for two and a half years.

    Currently, Kep1er is preparing for their comeback with the new studio album Kep1going On, which is scheduled to be released on June 3.
