    What's the story

Acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is gearing up to direct a new romantic film, reportedly starring Avinash Tiwary and Aditi Rao Hydari.

Per a Pinkvilla report, the project will go on floors on February 26, reuniting Ali and Tiwary, who had previously collaborated on Laila Majnu (2018).

A source close to the development informed the portal that the film will be shot "in a start-to-finish schedule."

    Filmography expansion

    Ali's ambitious 3-film lineup for 2025

The upcoming romantic film is the first of Ali's ambitious plan to release three films in quick succession.

After wrapping this project by summer 2025, he will turn his attention to a period love story with Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, and Naseeruddin Shah.

The last film in the lineup is a romantic comedy tentatively titled Idiots of Istanbul with Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri.

    Audience appeal

Ali's diverse film subjects aim to captivate audiences

This is the first time in Ali's career that he has planned three films back-to-back.

The source revealed, "Imtiaz spent the last one year to develop three scripts and is now ready to roll with them in a short span of time."

"He feels, the three subjects are different from each other and have the scope to win over the audience," they added.
