    What's the story

Riding high after the release of 'Race 3', Bobby Deol is now set to return to the stage after seven long years.

The organizers of IIFA have roped him in after Shahid Kapoor backed out of the event due to a back injury that he sustained on the sets of 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu'.

    Here's more.

    Details

    IIFA rehearsals worsened Shahid's injury

It was while shooting in Tehri last week that Shahid injured his back. And as the crew had a deadline to finish the schedule, Shahid didn't get any time to rest.

Simultaneously, he started rehearsing for his IIFA gig and that worsened his injury.

The doctors then strictly advised him to keep away from any strenuous activity, thus, he had to pull out.

    Context

Bobby has started prepping for his performance

A source close to the actor revealed that he wants his stage comeback to be a grand success.

"His IIFA act is going to be about his journey in Bollywood. It will start from his popular songs from the 90s like 'Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai' and end with his recent hits like 'Selfish' and 'Party Chale On' from 'Race 3'," the source said.

    Information

Meanwhile, Bobby defended 'Race 3' in an interview

In a recent media interaction, when Bobby was asked about 'Race 3' getting mostly negative reviews, he said that it would not have crossed Rs. 100 crore in just three days if it was so bad.
