'HIT 3': Nani's investigative thriller gets a 2025 release date
What's the story
Telugu superstar Nani, fresh off the success of his latest film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, has announced the release date for his next highly-anticipated project, HIT: The Third Case.
The actor unveiled a new poster along with a teaser on Thursday, revealing that the investigative thriller is set to hit theaters on May 1 next year.
In this film, Nani will be seen as Arjun Sarkaar—an aggressive police officer with shades of grey.
Character reveal
'Less of a cop, more of a criminal...'
Nani also shared a glimpse into his character in HIT. The new poster features him smoking a cigar and holding a bloodied axe inside a car.
On Instagram, he wrote, "Less of a cop, More of a criminal. Arjun Sarkaar takes charge."
This role marks one of the few times Nani has portrayed an officer in his career. Meanwhile, the rest of the cast for The Third Case is yet to be announced.
Sailesh Kolanu has helmed the movie.
Teaser release
'Hunter's Command' teaser introduces Nani's fierce avatar
The makers of the film also released a teaser titled Hunter's Command on Thursday.
The clip offers an interesting look into the film's mood and introduces Nani in a fierce and powerful avatar.
It opens with a HIT officer driving through snowy mountains, while two other officers chase him, alarmed by his actions.
As tension scales up, one officer warns that the HIT officer is in danger—only to be corrected by his partner who reveals that Sarkaar is the danger.

Franchise history
'HIT' franchise: A look at the previous installments
The HIT franchise began in 2020 with Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma. After receiving positive reviews, filmmakers decided to turn it into a series.
It followed Vikram—a character dealing with his own dreadful past—as he investigates a girl's disappearance.
The second installment—featuring Adivi Sesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary—told the tale of a psychopath unable to form relationships with women due to personal tragedy and a dapper police officer named KD investigating these killings.
Both films are available on Amazon Prime Video.
