What your favorite 'Game of Thrones' stars are doing next

    What's the story

While Game of Thrones might have ended with a tad bit disappointing finale, the future for the cast of this fantasy drama looks far from bleak.

For a decade, the (surviving) cast of Game of Thrones has served HBO diligently and now, they're moving on.

With the show's success as the wind beneath their wings, the cast is already working on several new projects.

    Number 1

    Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen)

While Queen Daenerys Targaryen's reign might be over, the actor's career is far from it. 32-year-old Emilia Clarke will next be seen in a British romantic comedy Last Christmas, co-written by Emma Thompson and directed by Paul Feig of Bridesmaids fame.

The Emmy-nominated actor will also feature in Above Suspicion, a film based on the real story of an FBI agent convicted of murder.

    Number 2

Kit Harington (Jon Snow aka Aegon Targaryen)

Much like his character Jon Snow, Harington seems just straight-up tired. The 32-year-old actor doesn't have any future projects scheduled, besides a voice role in the upcoming How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, which releases July.

Speaking to Variety, Harington admitted he wouldn't do another show as "demanding" as Game of Thrones and would prefer some job in London, where he lives.

    Number 3

    Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark)

The 'Queen in the North' has a busy schedule lined-up for her. Sophie Turner (23) will next be seen in the highly-anticipated Dark Phoenix, which will, in a way, conclude the X-Men film franchise. It's basically Fox's Endgame and will release on June 7.

She'll also star in Broken Soldier, a drama about a war vet suffering from PTSD, and Heavy, a romantic crime-thriller.

    Number 4

    Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister)

Lena Headey is one of the few core cast members on Game of Thrones who already had a well-established career before the show, and it seems she's just getting started.

Headey is up for a Game of Thrones reunion with Iain Glen (Ser Jorah Mormont) in her next, The Flood, releasing later this year.

She'll also appear in 2020 thrillers Gunpowder Milkshake and Crooks.

    Number 5

    Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Ser Jaime Lannister)

The 48-year-old Danish actor is also set to have a Game of Thrones reunion with Carice von Houten (Lady Melisandre) in the upcoming crime thriller Domino, where he plays a cop. Directed by Brian De Palma, the film releases on May 31.

Coster-Waldau is also currently working on the thrillers, Suicide Tourist, releasing November 21, and the two undated projects: The Silencing and Notat.

    Number 6

    Maisie Williams (Arya Stark)

Following in the footsteps of her BFF Turner, Maisie Williams will become a part of the X-Men film franchise with her portrayal of Wolfsbane (not the Westerosi poison), a mutant with werewolf-like powers, in the upcoming superhero-horror The New Mutants. The film releases in 2020.

This month, the 22-year-old started shooting for another comic book film, The Owners, a thriller set in the 1990s.

    Number 7

    Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister)

Tyrion Lannister may have lost his rep as the smartest Westerosi, but Dinklage has only gained from his portrayal of the iconic character.

The 49-year-old actor will voice The Mighty Eagle in August's The Angry Birds Movie 2, and a caveman in The Croods 2 (2020).

Additionally, he's got lead roles in the crime drama The Thicket and a medieval period piece The Dwarf.
