Renowned filmmaker TJ Gnanavel, who is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming film Vettaiyan, headlined by Rajinikanth, has announced his next project titled Dosa King.
The film is set to be a pan-Indian project produced by Junglee Pictures.
Per reports, Dosa King will delve into the real-life legal battle between Jeevajothi and P Rajagopal, the founder of the popular Hotel Saravana Bhavan restaurant chain.

Gnanavel, in collaboration with Hemanth Rao, will pen the script for Dosa King, which promises to explore the themes of ambition, power, and justice.
The director had initially announced the film in 2022, emphasizing its focus on the crime narrative and an untold perspective of the case.
Gnanavel, a former journalist, covered this case extensively as a reporter and aims to bring lesser-known facets of the story to light through this film.

'Dosa King' to chronicle rise and fall of Saravana Bhavan
Dosa King is set to chronicle the rise and fall of the globally renowned Saravana Bhavan, established by Rajagopal, and the courageous Jeevajothi who challenged the influential tycoon.
The restaurant chain, which originated in Chennai and has branches worldwide, gained notoriety when its owner, Rajagopal, became involved in a murder case.
He was eventually sentenced to life imprisonment by the Supreme Court but died before serving his sentence.

Gnanavel's 'Vettaiyan' set for Dussehra release
Meanwhile, Gnanavel's Vettaiyan, which reunites Rajinikanth and superstar Amitabh Bachchan after 33 years, is scheduled to hit the screens on October 10 on the occasion of Dussehra.
The film also features Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, and Manju Warrier in prominent roles.
The movie is currently in post-production with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
The first single from the upcoming film Manasilayo was launched on Monday.
