Disneyland creating underwater wonderland inspired by 'Avatar: Way of Water'
What's the story
Disneyland has announced that it will bring the world of Pandora from James Cameron's highest-grossing film, the Avatar franchise to its California park.
The announcement was made by Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D'Amaro during D23's Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase on Sunday.
The new attraction will reportedly be inspired by the 2022 film Avatar: The Way of Water and future installments in the series.
New addition
A unique experience at Disneyland's new attraction
Disney World's Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, already houses a Pandora-themed attraction, based on the original 2009 Avatar film.
However, the upcoming attraction in Anaheim promises a unique experience as it will draw inspiration from the sequel and future films in the franchise.
Imagineer Ali Rubin shared concept art for the new attraction and described it as an adventure in search of Pandora's majestic natural wonders.

Third 'Avatar' film title revealed
The announcement of the new Disneyland attraction follows the reveal of the title for the third Avatar film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, by Cameron during Friday's D23 presentation.
The third installment in the series is set to premiere on December 19, 2025.
Cameron was joined by stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana for the announcement. The concept art revealed that the film will introduce audiences to new Na'vi clans and biomes.

'Avatar' films continue to dominate box office
The original Avatar film remains the highest-grossing film of all time, earning more than $2.9B worldwide.
Its sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, holds the third-highest spot with earnings of $2.3B, following Avengers: Endgame, which earned nearly $2.8B.
To note, Fire and Ash will pick up soon after the events of The Way of Water where Jake Sully and Neytiri encounter the "Ash People," a clan of Na'vi who are drawn more to violence and power than other clans.
