#ComicBytes: Thor's body is weird, these five facts prove it

    What's the story

Thor is the God of Thunder and considered to be one of the most powerful Avengers and is feared across the Marvel universe.

With his trusty hammer, Mjolnir, he's formidable.

Born in Asgard, Thor has a set of unique abilities and characteristics that set him apart from ordinary humans.

But did you know his body is weird? Here are five facts to prove it.

    Fact 1

Thor can survive without food, water, rest and breathing

Thor has the body of a God and understandably does not require the same amount of upkeep as mere mortals.

However, Thor's self-sustenance levels are so high that he can function at his fullest potential without food, water, rest and even oxygen.

Not only does this make his stamina unparalleled, but it also gives him a massive edge in outfighting his enemies.

    Fact 2

The life force flows through Thor's body

Thor's source of divine power comes from a special force that flows through his body.

This is called the Life Force or the God Force. He has access to this vast power in all the realms and can summon it at moment's notice.

The divinity that Thor has, stems from this power and using it, Thor can unleash a cataclysmic God-Blast attack, destroying everything.

    Fact 3

Thor is half Asgardian and half Elder God

Thor's God Force might be a result of his parental lineage.

While he is half Asgardian, being born to Odin the Allfather, Thor's mother is an Elder God.

He is the son of Gaea, who controls the geology of Earth.

His mother's powers set Thor apart from his peers and give him additional abilities of controlling earthly elements, apart from his power over thunder.

    Fact 4

Thor has nearly unlimited physical power, but withholds it

Thor has nearly unlimited physical power and durability.

However, the Asgardian has chosen to train himself not to use his power to the fullest in battle, unless the opponent is equally strong or stronger.

The reason Thor chooses to hold back comes from a sense of honor and excitement, and out of the God's consideration about the protection of the people around him.

    Fact 5

Thor can speak all languages at once

Charged with maintaining the peace in the nine realms, Thor often has to visit different planets.

So, he has to speak in that planet's native language. This means Thor has to master innumerable languages.

But instead, he has a power called the All-Tongue.

This allows him to understand whatever language is being spoken, while others hear whatever he speaks in their respective languages.
